The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) is responsible for defending, protecting and securing South Africa from any external aggression, internal threats and contributes to international peace and stability.
The SANDF is headed by its top leadership that includes the Chief of the SANDF, General Solly Zacharia Shoke. He is assisted by two Deputy Chiefs (DCOSDN) – DCOSDN Air component, Lieutenant General Zimpande Msimang and DCOSDN Joint Operations component, Lieutenant General Charles Mtshali.
