How Many Months Does NSFAS Give Allowance?

NSFAS is a government funded bursary scheme, which means that it’s free of charge. You can apply for this bursary by filling in an application form and providing proof of your qualifications.

You must be studying towards a degree, diploma or certificate at the time you apply for your first Bursary Grant. The maximum amount of money that you can receive is R10 000 per year (or R800). The maximum duration of your grant will depend on how long it takes you to complete your qualification; however, we recommend applying early so that as many students as possible get funding!
