To ensure your application is successful, you will need to pay the application fee of R1500. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

You can pay the application fee by cash or cheque at any bank, online banking or PayPal.

Please note that if you choose to use your credit card, it may include an additional payment processing fee that will be charged to you by your bank/credit card company.

  • Register Online: Go to the CUT website, click on “Apply” and fill in all the required information.
  • Confirm Registration: You must log into your account by clicking here and check if you have submitted your application successfully.
  • Log on to the CUT Student Portal and Print your Admission letter: Click on “Student Portal” at the top right corner of the home page then enter your username and password to login into the portal where you can access all important documents related to your studies at Central University of Technology such as provisional admission letter, registration slip, etc.,

Step 1: Register Online.

To apply for admission you must have the following documents:

  • A valid ID document (ID, passport or birth certificate)
  • Proof of English Proficiency (for all applicants who have not completed their secondary education at an English-speaking institution)

Step 2: Confirm Registration.

After you have completed your registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Please check your inbox and spam folder for the email.

You can also confirm your registration by visiting the campus or submitting a phone call to the Central University of Technology’s customer service line at 0861 556 009.

Step 3: Log on to the CUT Student Portal and Print your Admission letter.

Now that you have paid your application fee, you need to log on to the CUT Student Portal and print your admission letter. This is the final step before uploading all documents required for registration.

You will be taken through a series of steps including paying your application fee, uploading supporting documents and finalizing your application.

Step 4: Pay your Application fee.

You can pay your UCIT Application Fee by the following methods:

  • EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) to bank account number 0017 1611 63866 (Account Number: 1438).
  • Credit Card / Debit Card, via our payment portal.
  • Cash at any of our campus offices or online banking services. Please note that in order to process cash payments, you will be required to submit proof of identity and proof of residence documentations as well as a copy of the application form. The documents must be certified by the issuing institution and stamped with their official stamp or seal; OR photocopies are accepted for identification purposes only.
  • Cheque payable to: University of Central Technology (UCT) from a recognized South African bank; OR Money Order from a National Postal Services provider; OR Online Banking Direct Deposit into UCT’s bank account number 0017 1611 63866 (Account Number: 1438); Or ATM withdrawal using debit card linked directly to UCT’s bank account

Step 5: Upload Documents.

  • Upload scanned copy of ID document.
  • Upload scanned copy of academic transcript.
  • Upload scanned copy of certificate of matriculation.
  • Upload scanned copy of certificate of proficiency.
  • Upload scanned copy of certificate of specialisation, if applicable

Step 6 to finalize your application.

You can now finalize your application by submitting all the required documents and paying the application fee.

Step 6: Confirm Your Online Application

You need to confirm your online application by clicking on the link sent to you via SMS or email. When you confirm, we will send you a confirmation code which is required for verification purposes.

In order to be admitted into any of the Central University Of Technology’s undergraduate, postgraduate, masters, diploma, doctorate, bachelors, pre-masters and distant education learning programmes you need to meet certain academic requirements. The admission requirements may differ from one programme to another and you should refer to the specific course information for further details.
