If you are living in South Africa and you have lost your SASSA card, there is no need to worry. You can still withdraw money from an ATM without a Sassa card. All you will need is some cash, a completed form and access to the nearest SASSA office. Here is how it works:
How To Withdraw Money Without SASSA Card
To have the card replaced, you must visit your nearest SASSA office. You will be charged R12 for this service and the fee is non-refundable. You can pay in cash or by card at any SASSA office that is open.
You will then be supplied with a form which you must take home and complete.
Once the application form has been filled and signed, you must take it to your banking institution. They will then verify the information on the form with SASSA’s database. You will then be supplied with a form which you must take home and complete. The completed application form should have all of the following information:
- name
- address
- date of birth
- identity number (SASS number)
- bank details -contact details (in case there are any issues) and a signature line for your signature at the end of all this information.
Return the form to the same SASSA office after completion.

If you want to do this, be sure that you have all of your contact details on hand. Your new card will be ready for collection within 10 working days. You will be charged a fee of R12 for returning the form in person and another R12 if it is returned by registered mail.
