There are two application deadlines for the second semester. The deadline for applications is 1 November, and the deadline for accommodation applications is 1 November. If you’re not sure when your semester starts, ask a teacher or an administrator in school administration. In most cases, this will be between 7 February and 10 March.

What programs are available?

You can apply to any program at Universal Technical Institute (UTI). Each program is designed to provide the necessary training and education for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to become highly skilled technicians.

What are the programs?

  • Automotive Technology: This program provides the skills necessary for entry-level positions in automotive service and maintenance. Students learn how to work on modern vehicles with electronic fuel injection systems, air conditioning, emission controls, computerized control systems, ABS braking systems and more. Students also understand how these components work together as a system. Most graduates find employment in automotive repair shops or dealerships; others may pursue careers as diesel mechanics or engine rebuilders.
  • Diesel Technology: This program trains students to service heavy-duty diesel engines used primarily by trucks, buses, construction equipment and generators. The curriculum focuses on advanced engine diagnosis techniques such as electronic control diagnostics on Cummins Power Systems engines along with other major manufacturers such as Caterpillar/Cummins; Detroit Diesel; Mack Trucks; International Trucks; Volvo Trucks; Mercedes-Benz Vans USA LLC; Navistar International Corporation (IC Bus); Mack Buses & Truck Chassis Divisions (formerly Freightliner Corporation).

How can I apply?

You can apply for a course at TUT by:

  • Online, via your account.
  • Paper, via the paper application form (available from January to October).
  • By phone (+358 2 8344 134).
  • By email ([email protected]).
  • By fax (+358 2 8344 134) and then by mail or in person.

How much does it cost to study at TUT?

If you plan on studying at TUT, it’s important to know how much it will cost. The average cost of living in the Netherlands is high relative to other European countries.

  • The average tuition fee for undergraduate courses is €3,200 per year.
  • For most bachelor’s degree programs, students are required to live in student accommodation within the city center (Amsterdam). The cheapest rooms are shared and private rooms range from €400-1000 per month.
  • Food costs can be anywhere between €600-1500 per month depending on what type of diet you eat and where your meals come from (local supermarkets/food stores vs restaurants/pubs). This will typically include groceries like fruits, vegetables and meat; while drinks like coffee or beer can be purchased at a lower cost than restaurants/bars usually offer them at (especially if they’re Dutch beers!).
  • Books vary between €100-500 each all depending on whether you buy them new or second hand – check out cheap textbooks online before committing!

Can I still get accommodation for second semester?

You may still apply for accommodation in a second year room if you do so before 1 November.

Applications are processed on a first come first served basis, so it is advisable to submit yours as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note that applications for second semester accommodation will close at 5pm on Monday 27 October.

Do I have to write a new application, or will my first semester application be sufficient?

You can use the same application form for both semesters. You will need to update your application with new information, such as grades and your resume. If you are applying for a different program, or if you want to apply through a different process (e.g., transfer student), then you will need to submit a new application.

Don’t miss the deadline of 1 November!

The deadline for the second semester is always 1 November. But you can apply for the first semester at any time.

If you want to enter a course in your second year, you must submit your application by 1 November. You will find all relevant information on our website and in our brochures (available in most of our central locations).
