Payment via Bank Account
Receiving payments through your bank account is arguably the most convenient and fastest manner of receiving the award; it also eliminates the need to queue at the Post Office. Monthly payments will be made to the beneficiary’s bank account, as specified in the grant application. Please keep in mind that the bank account or mobile phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the accepted applicant of the R350 grant applications to ensure that payment is made to the correct beneficiaries.
Payment Collections
Individuals who do not have access to a bank can collect their award funds at Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank), Pick-N-Pay, or Boxer retailers. Alternatively, a bank mobile money transfer may be used (cash send option). You will be able to claim the award funds only after receiving an SMS confirmation that payment has been confirmed.
What is the R350 Reconsideration Process?
The reconsideration procedure is where they verify the individual’s personal information and income situation to ensure they are not vulnerable. Recently, there have been reports of delays in the processing of reconsideration petitions due to the lengthier time periods required to communicate with banks.
How may I request a reconsideration of my R350 Grant?
If you notice that the status of your R350 grant application is ‘Reapplication Pending,’ you should take the following procedures to dispute the status:
Access the SRD portal with the following link: https://srd.sassa.gov.za
Select the ‘Reconsideration Request’ tab.
Then click on ‘Click here to submit an appeal’.
Identify yourself by providing your driver’s license and telephone number.
Complete the remaining steps to have your payment reconsidered.
When does the SASSA R350 Grant End?
The Covid-19 R350 grant, according to President Cyril Ramaphosa, will expire in March 2022. However, the government is currently in discussions regarding possibly extending the award for relief of suffering.
When you see your request progress, what does it imply when it says referred?
If you ticked yours and saw referred to as the outcome, it signifies that the personal information you gave was shared with a third party or agency to determine whether they truly deserve it or not. For individuals who have not yet begun the process because they believe their existing ones remain valid under the new extension, please be advised that you must do so in order to receive support and prevent delays from the agency.
You would then have to wait for their response before proceeding with your process. This response will be used to determine the current state of your sassa srd application. Once you have this information, you will be able to determine if your grant has been accepted or is still pending. This is the status of your submitted request at the time it was filed. Due to its reopening, all previous statuses will be null and void, and all beneficiaries will be required to resubmit their grant applications.
You’ll want to monitor the status of your R350 application after completing your Sassa SRD grant application online. If the status of your R350 grant is reapplication pending,’ then you should take the following action.
What should you do if your application is marked as ‘Pending Reapplication’?
You must submit your application for an R350 award through the SRD website, which is srd.sassa.gov.za. The application procedure is as follows: Apply online through Sassa SRD’s website. The first step is to enter your cell phone number, followed by “Send SMS.” An OTP will be given to your phone number; input the one-time pin (OTP) that Sassa has sent to the number and proceed with the application process by completing the needed stages.

When you apply for a Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant, your information will be forwarded to the appropriate government authorities for verification. Your surname may be incorrect if your marital status has changed during the current grant payment cycle. This change in status may occur as a result of marriage or divorce. According to SASSA, it is critical to confirm your marital status with the Department of Home Affairs and to ensure your surname is correct. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the rejection of your SRD grant application.
