A National Senior Certificate with an endorsement of Bachelor’s Degree admission, that includes the following selected subject combinations:

A minimum of 10 subjects, including at least 4 subjects from Group A and at least 2 subjects from Group B, as follows:

Group A: Mathematics (Maths), Physics (Physics), Chemistry (Chemistry) and Biology/Agricultural Science/Biological Sciences

Group B: Any one of the following: Accounting or Commerce; Computer Studies; Economic Management; Geography; History; Home Economics; Information Technology; Law Studies or Political Science.

• National Senior Certificate with an endorsement of Bachelor’s Degree admission, that includes the following selected subject combinations:
• Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy)
• Science (Biology or Physical Science)
• English.

Admission as a pharmacy student requires an understanding of the role of the pharmacist in serving patients, physicians and other health professionals. Therefore, it is necessary that you have some clinical experience. You must submit verifiable proof of at least 30 hours of volunteer clinical experience (such as working in a pharmacy, hospital or nursing home) prior to your admission interview.

The Faculty will consider applicants with disabilities for all its undergraduate programmes, provided they meet the minimum requirements for admission and can fulfil the requirements for registration and licensing with the South African Pharmacy Council.

Applicants must submit a medical certificate from their doctor stating that they are eligible to study pharmacy in South Africa and that they have been so certified by a registered medical practitioner within 6 months prior to completing their application.
