If you’re looking to cancel your IRP5 number, you’ll need to do so through the SARS eFiling website. Here’s how:
How To Cancel Irp5 Registered Online
Go to the SARS eFiling website and login.
Choose “Taxpayer” under the “Personal” tab on the left-hand side of your screen, then click on “Tax Service”.
On this new page, choose “My Tax Access” from the drop-down menu that says “My Services:”. Once there, scroll down until you see a blue button with an arrow pointing up next to ‘TRA’ (which stands for taxpayer registration number), then click it once in order to select it as your current tax filing method—this will allow you access to all of your online accounts and records when doing so via TRA registration numbers or employer numbers only!
To cancel your Income Tax Return (ITR), you will need to go to and click on “Cancel”.
The menu bar is located at the top of your screen, to the left side of this article’s title bar. It has three buttons: “File”, “Help”, and “Log Out”. You can also access these options by clicking on them with your mouse or tapping them with your finger on a mobile device. You may find that you cannot see all parts of this webpage if you have turned off JavaScript in your browser; if so, please turn it back on!
Click on “Registered IRP5” in the menu bar on the left side of the screen.
You will be taken to a page with a list of all your IRP5 numbers.
Click on the number you want to cancel, and then click [Cancel].
You will be taken to a page with a list of your IRP5 numbers, which includes any cancelled ones with an asterisk beside them.
Click on the “Cancel IRP5” button under your current number.
You will be taken to a page that has a message saying your IRP5 has been cancelled and you can now use the same number for a new IRP5 if needed.
If you have an IRP5 number that is registered with SARS, it’s easy to cancel it online.
You can cancel your IRP5 at any time and at any point in the year. You can even cancel your IRP5 if you’ve already submitted your return for that particular year of assessment.
This means that if you’re having second thoughts about submitting a return or want to make changes after submitting your returns—such as changing your registered address or changing the name of a shareholder—you can still do so by canceling the current registration and re-registering with SARS in future months until all necessary documents are provided.
