How To Apply For SASSA R350 Grant Online Application

If you are one of the many South Africans who have not yet applied for the SASSA R350 grant, it is important that you do so as soon as possible. To apply for the SASSA R350 grant online is quite easy but before we get into how to do this, let’s first look at what benefits you will be entitled to if your application is successful.

How To Apply For SASSA R350 Grant Online Application

Here are the steps for South Africans to apply for SASSA R350 grant online:

Let’s start with the basics. We’ll assume that you have access to a cellphone and that your SIM card has enough credit on it. If not, please visit your closest store and purchase one.

With a working SIM card in hand, follow these steps:

  • Log onto the SASSA website and click on “Apply for R350 Grant” (you can find this link under the “Payments” tab).
  • Select “New Applicant” from the drop-down menu at the top of your screen (or click here [link] if you’re having trouble locating it) and fill out all requested information about yourself as accurately as possible: name, ID number, contact details etcetera before clicking Continue. You must also upload a copy of each document that proves who you are (e.g., driver’s license), where applicable; however there is no need to upload any proof if it isn’t required by law (e.g., birth certificate). If you don’t have any documents on hand but know they exist somewhere then feel free just type “No documents available” into text areas where needed instead.)
  • Click Submit when finished filling out this form successfully so we can move onto step 2!

  • Enter your cellphone number, enter OTP sent to you via SMS and click on the “Submit” button

Select the correct benefit type in the drop-down menu. The system will automatically select your preferred language.

The next step is to provide your identity details such as ID number, name, and date of birth. You can either enter these manually or scan a copy of your identity document using an app on your mobile device (such as WhatsApp).

When you begin your application, select the benefit type you are applying for in the drop-down menu. The options are:

  • Unemployed
  • Disability
  • Older Person

Enter your ID Number, Email Address and Cellphone Number and click on the submit button

  • An OTP will be sent to your cellphone via SMS. This must be entered to proceed with the application process.

A One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to your cellphone number.

An OTP (One Time Pin) will be sent to your cellphone number. You will need it to log into your SASSA account so keep it secure and do not share it with anyone. The OTP is valid for one log in and only 24 hours from when you receive it.

Your OTP is a six-digit code that will be sent to your cellphone via SMS. Check the number of characters in the OTP and enter it carefully as it is case sensitive (the letters are not capitalized).
