This course is an NQF level 6 qualification with a total of 360 credits. Students will be required to complete the following courses in order to gain the qualification.

The following are the requirements for admission into the diploma programme in logistics and supply chain management at Unisa:

To be eligible for admission into this course, you will need to possess:

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Mathematics and English at grade 10 or equivalent; or
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Bachelor’s degree holders who already have a qualification in Business Management may apply for exemption from the MTU6010 – Principles of Logistics & Supply Chain Management subject).

Entry Requirements

The following table outlines the minimum criteria to pass a module:

  • Module 1 – Supply Chain Management: In this module, you will be expected to achieve at least 45% for an A-grade. This means that you need to score between 46% and 59%. If your result is less than 45%, then your grade will be noted as C-.
  • Module 2 – Logistics: In this module, you will be expected to achieve at least 48% for an A-grade. This means that you need to score between 49% and 66%. If your result is less than 48%, then your grade will be noted as C+.

The English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) is a test of your English language proficiency. If you are an international student, this test will determine whether or not you meet the required standard for registration at Unisa.

ELPT is a prerequisite for registration at Unisa and must be taken before enrolling in any course with the University of South Africa (UNISA). The ELPT can only be taken twice within 18 months following its first attempt.

The ELPT consists of three sections: reading comprehension, writing and listening skills. A minimum score requirement applies to each section; however, students must successfully complete all three sections in order to pass the test and register for courses offered by UNISA.

The results from all three sections will be combined into one overall grade in terms of percentages out of 100%.
